So it’s official: DemoiselleGH has been nominated for the 2013 BlogCamp Ghana awards, under the Best Lifestyle Blog category!
First of all, we’d like to point out how awesome it is to live in a time where art, creativity, and the sharing of oneself and experiences with others is lauded in Ghana, as opposed to being brushed off as unproductive and a waste of time. We, as well as all of the other bloggers nominated i’m sure, really love sharing our thoughts, creativity and passions with everyone else. To be nominated and recognized for that fact alone, is an honor!
We’re not going to tell you to go vote for us (though that would be amazing!). We’re asking for you to show your support for the creative work of others, and the power of social media, by visiting the BlogCamp 2013 voting site, checking out all the different blogs for yourself, and voting for your favorites in each category.
To us, this is more than just a bunch of awards. It is proof of the acceptance of the power of social media to effect change and invoke sentiment. It’s a screenshot of the power of our generation, behind laptops and computers and smartphones around the world, voicing their thoughts and opinions, and being heard. It’s proof of a movement, and of positive change. So while we’d love to win in our category, and would appreciate your votes, we ask that you vote regardless.
